Phoenix Garden Events
Health & Wellbeing Event
Sunday 15th June, 11:00-14:00
You are welcome to attend the whole event or individual sessions of your choice.
11:00-11:45 – Sound bath meditation with Jhanny French
Janny is a student at the College of Sound Healing under the supervision of Sheila Whittaker, a Gong Master.
Sound healing promotes relaxation and stress relief. It helps to enhance your ability to let go of past experiences and forgive yourself and others. It encourages the cultivation of respect, love and deep bonds with self and other beings. It can enhance the feeling of unconditional love, warmth and security that others are drawn to.
The sound bath will be 40-45mins long. Please bring a mat, blanket and cushion to make yourself comfortable.
12:00-12:45 – Circle of Friends with Health Creation Mentor, Susan Salmon.
Circle of Friends is a friendly, welcoming group where people come together to talk, listen, and connect with one another. This month we’ll explore the theme of belonging.
We’ll create a large paper tree and you can add a leaf with a word, drawing, or image that shows what belonging means to you. There’ll be pre-cut leaves, stickers, magazines to cut up, and pens to use. We can also chat about what belonging means over a light lunch.
It’s a chance to reflect, take part in a creative activity, and connect with others in a friendly, welcoming space.
13:00-14:00 – Qi Gong with practitioner Keiko Sudo
According to traditional Chinese medicine principles, a person’s qi must flow throughout the body in order for people to feel their best.
Qigong uses gentle poses and breathing patterns to promote a healthy flow and reduce stagnation of qi. Proper flow of qi can help the body engage its own healing processes.
Regular practice helps maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, by improving overall body strength, core muscles, and aerobic conditioning.
Our Health & Wellbeing events are held the 3rd Sunday of every month and are funded by Camden’s Cost of Living Community Response Fund.
